Low fat and super light Black Forest Brownies – taking fat free brownie mix up a few notches by adding a few simple ingredients. Only 135 calories and less than 1g of fat each!

I love fat free brownie mixes, there are several available on the market that make beautifully moist and completely guiltless brownies that are super easy to make. What I find with the mixes is that sometimes you want to add a little something to really make them special. I love black forest everything. The combination of cherry and chocolate is just so good, and this recipe adds a little cherry to a box of store-bought brownie mix for a quick dessert that is as beautiful as it is delicious! Ingredients | 

  • 1 box of fat free brownie mix  (I used No Pudge Fat Free Brownie Mix, Trader Joe’s also makes a good version)
  • 1/2 cup of pitted cherries, chopped (I used frozen)
  • 1 6-oz. container of Cherry Flavored Yogurt (I used 1 Dannon Light & Fit Cherry Vanilla Yogurt cup)
  • 2 tablespoons of fat free milk
  • 1 tablespoon of mini chocolate chips
  • 6 teaspoons of cherry preserves

Instructions | Preheat the oven to 350f. Spray a muffin pan with non stick baking spray. In a bowl, combine brownie mix, yogurt and milk. Fold in chopped cherries. Divide between 12 muffin cups. Drop a 1/2 teaspoon of cherry preserves into the center of the top of each brownie and sprinkle with a few chocolate chips. Bake for about 22-25 minutes. Allow to cool before removing from pan.
